Honouring ANZAC Day at The Little Yarn Store
ANZAC Day means more to us than we can easily put into words. My partner Rob, our co-owner, is a veteran, and our Store Manager Sam's partner is currently serving. This weekend, we want to honour that — and invite our community to give back alongside us.This year, the day also coincides with two special occasions for us: Local Yarn Store Day and our third anniversary of opening our doors to this community. We are grateful to be among the businesses permitted to open, and we don't take that lightly. We'll be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the 25th, and we've shaped the weekend around showing up for our community.
Over the April 25th weekend, we will be:
• Raising money for Soldier On, supporting Australian veterans and their families on their path to recovery and beyond. Can't make it this weekend, but would like to support Soldier On? You can give here.
• Collecting donations for Knit One Give One / KOGO, who provide hand-knit and crocheted items to the most vulnerable in our community. If you have a finished project looking for a purpose, bring it along — KOGO will make sure it finds the right hands.
• Offering 10% off everything in-store and online for the weekend (excluding sale items). 5% of every sale will be donated to Soldier On.
• Honouring veterans and APOD members with 15% off this weekend — we offer 10% year-round, and this weekend we'd like to give a little more. For these sales, we're directing that extra 5% straight to you as an added thank-you.
• Running giveaways throughout the weekend.
Three years ago we opened, hoping to build something more than a yarn store — a place of creativity, connection, and community. Days like this remind us why. Thank you for being part of it.
