Asia Pacific Aerospace has agreed to generously match every donation given by our community members this Remembrance Day in support of our veterans. All the donations received on November 8 and 9 will be matched by AP Aerospace- a greater opportunity to double your impact.

In the lead up to Remembrance Day, we often reflect on our veterans and the sacrifices they have made.

In the past year, Soldier On has supported over 11,000 individuals in our veteran community - but we need your help to keep reaching more.

Every dollar you give today will make a huge difference to the life of a veteran and their family.

Your support in the lead up to Remembrance Day will help veterans like Rachel

Rachael proudly served in the Royal Australian Navy from 2014-2017 as an Electronic Warfare Sailor. When she left the ADF, service-related injuries prevented her from returning to her previous roles with the Ambulance Service and NSW Fire & Rescue. Looking for a new direction, Rachael connected with Soldier On and joined a few catchups, even participating in a sailing event. Soldier On introduced Rachael to a program that supports veterans in pursuing university degrees, which led her to complete a four-year honours degree.

After graduation, she reached out to Soldier On again for help to find meaningful employment. Soldier On guided her in translating her valuable skills from both the Navy and her frontline service roles into civilian work, helping her prepare for interviews and ultimately landing a great new role.

“Since becoming involved with Soldier On, my perspective on life and my transition has changed significantly,” says Rachael. “Without their support, I would have felt lost and overwhelmed during this challenging time. They provided the resources, guidance, and community I needed to navigate my transition successfully.”

“I now have a clearer sense of purpose and direction in my career, and I feel empowered to pursue opportunities I once thought were out of reach. Soldier On has not only helped me regain my confidence but also instilled in me the belief that I can thrive in my new path.”

Where your money goes:

Soldier On delivers services nationwide to serving and ex-serving personnel and their families. These services are specifically designed to HELP individuals build resilience, create and expand meaningful connections with family, community and employers.

Our Health and Wellbeing programs help veterans overcome mental obstacles from their service and the effects it may have on their transition to civilian life.

Employment programs help veterans find a meaningful career beyond their military service by offering employment support and career development opportunities.

Our Learning and Education programs help veterans, and their families gain new qualifications, additional skills, or vocational training as part of their career transition.

Participation and Social Connections brings veterans together to rebuild a sense of social connectedness, through our programs designed to foster the sense of community.

As a Ex ADF RAAF Air Force member, I like to Thank both Soldier On & Open Arms for their assistance and guidance over my time from my medical discharge from the ADF. Over this period your services have ensured that I continue to live, stop me from suicidal actions. Helped me find a way to move forward after my long years as a serving member in the ADF RAAF. Which I thoroughly enjoyed immensely, so lost when told that I couldn't continue to work and serve in the defence force at all. My heart and soul was distorted. Lost the willingness to continue to live or care for my family or myself. Just wanted to end life. I just hope other veterans/ expats have the chances to be in contact with your organisations to be able continue on after leaving the ADF defence force. It's extremely important to have someone call on you, as so much easier to isolated yourself and get more depressed and be unsociable, be overwhelmed, anxious and frighten to be in public places as PTSD, knocks you for ten. So pleased that my commanding officer from HQAF in Canberra was so caring and followed up on me and got the Chaplain Deal to check on my Well-being many times and the RAAF rehabilitation officer for personally coming to my home, helping me with my issues and giving guidance to encourage me to take the next step by contacting Open Arms and Soldier On as a support team in my rehabilitation and transfer from ADF RAAF to civilian life. This wasn't a easy step in my progress, as I down spiralled badly in a suicidal state. But the home visit and phone call were the Lifeline to keep me going. I so appreciated of this personal service it's making a difference. Well done. I will highly recommend other expats/ ex Veterans from.any service in ADF or emergency services departments utilise your services. Currently, I'm very unwell with a serve case of Covid-19. It's hit me extremely hard. So much that I'm the worst I've felt in a long time. So my capacity to take on normal daily tasks/ routine is a struggle. Presently at day 6/7 of my Covid-19 illness. I have many conditions connected to my service related time in the defence force ADF. They take a toll on me on a daily basis. Anyhow, Soldier On keep up.the good services you provide as it's essential to many ADF & Emergency services personnel. R Kind regards Shirley Harding EX VETERAN OF ADF RAAF Air Force 1981-1987 PAF & 2007-2023 Reservist.
