Welcome to my 2021 Frontline Safari fundraising page
In August this year I, along with a few other middle aged, scooter riding, latte (or long black) drinking city folk, will be embarking on an epic adventure.
The Frontline Safari is an organised fundraising adventure ride for up to 40 riders. And all in support of this fantastic cause, with obvious close personal meaning. The timing seems perfect as a month before the event marks the 30th anniversary of my graduation from The Royal Military College, Duntroon (shout-out to my Jan '90 to June '91 classmates - some still serving).
We depart Birdsville on 23rd August, head south to loop around the Simpson Desert, via Oodnadatta, before crossing it West to East back to Birdsville on the 28th. I'll be doing it on my trusty KTM 350 EXC-f (with long range fuel tank!). Not the most comfortable bike for adventure riding, but who am I to complain.
I'm lucky enough to be doing the ride with some close mates and will no doubt make more along the way. I won't lie - this is going to be awesome fun, but it is not going to be without its challenges. Apart from the obvious physical toll (most significantly to my butt) I'm struggling to google any decent coffee shops along the Oodnadatta track. Any recommendations welcome.
Your support for this most worthy cause would be greatly appreciated.
