Honouring Service, Breaking Stigma: Supporting Veteran Wellbeing with Soldier On
Mission Statement
To honour the life, 17-year Royal Australian Navy service, and enduring legacy of Petty Officer Adam Hearps, this physical challenge—covering 42.2 kilometres each week, for 10 weeks—is dedicated to advancing the mental health and wellbeing of our Defence community. Through this initiative, I seek to continue breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health within the Royal Australian Navy and Australian Defence Force, encouraging serving and ex-serving members to feel supported, empowered, and confident in seeking assistance. By driving open conversations and raising vital funds for Soldier On, this campaign helps ensure that personnel and their families receive the essential support services required during service, transition, and beyond.

Another Week Down! ✅
Tuesday 13th OctWeek 3 is complete, and Operation 422 continues to gather momentum!
The kilometres are adding up, but even more inspiring is the incredible support from everyone following the journey. We have now raised an outstanding $6,173, putting us within touching distance of our third fundraising milestone of $7,000!

Week 2 Complete!
Sunday 4th OctWeek 2 is officially achieved, and we exceeded the target with a total of 46 km smashed out over the last seven days! 🏃♂️
The momentum hasn't slowed down, and I am once again blown away by everyone’s generosity. We have now officially surpassed our second goal and reached a huge $5,745 raised!

I’m completely blown away by the ongoing support. Because of this amazing momentum, we’re setting the bar higher and raising our new goal to $7,000!

Operation 422 | Week 1 Milestone Achieved

Week 1 is officially in the books, with the first 42.2 km ticked off! ✅
I am absolutely blown away by the incredible response and support so far. We smashed through our initial $2,000 goal in the first 24 hours, and thanks to your amazing generosity, we are currently sitting at $4,153—just $67 away from our second target of $4,220!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Operation 422 so far.
I'm humbled to share that we've reached our initial fundraising goal of $2,000 in less than 24 hours.
The incredible generosity, encouragement, and support from family, friends, colleagues, and the wider community has exceeded all expectations. Every donation helps support the important work of Soldier On and honours the memory of Adam.
While we've reached the first milestone, the challenge itself is only just beginning. There are still over 400 km to cover over the next 9 weeks, and I'll be continuing to raise awareness and funds along the way.
